Who can register to vote in Pennsylvania?
To register to vote in Pennsylvania, you must:
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Be a resident of Pennsylvania and your election district
- Be at least 18 years old on the day of the next election
- Not convicted of a felony (or, if so, have had your civil rights restored)
- Not judged mentally incompetent in a court of law
Can I register to vote on Election Day?
Pennsylvania does not offer same-day voter registration, so be sure to submit your voter registration before the deadline.
What are the voter registration deadlines?
- To submit your voter registration by mail or online, your registration must be received by October 21, 2024.
- To submit your voter registration in person, you must visit a county election office and register by October 21, 2024.
What do I need to bring to vote?
When voting at a polling place for the first time, you must show proof of identification:
- Pennsylvania driver’s license or PennDOT ID card
- ID issued by any Commonwealth agency
- ID issued by the U.S. Government
- U.S. passport
- U.S. Armed Forces ID
- Student ID
- Employee ID
If you do not have a photo ID, you can use a non-photo identification that includes your name and address, including:
- Confirmation issued by the County Voter Registration Office
- Non-photo ID issued by the Commonwealth
- Non-photo ID issued by the U.S. Government
- Firearm permit
- Current utility bill
- Current bank statement
- Current paycheck
- Government check
