How can I vote in Alabama?

Make sure you know where your polling place is and have a plan for voting day.

To vote by mail, check if you qualify and request your ballot online before OCTOBER 29.

Alabama does not offer any early in-person voting.

Be sure to register to vote online or by mail in Alabama — by October 21.

To register to vote in Alabama you must:

Be a U.S. citizen
Live in Alabama
Be at least 18 years old on the day of the next election
Not have been convicted of a disqualifying felony, or if you have been convicted, have had your civil rights restored
Not have been declared "mentally incompetent" by a court

Alabama does not offer same-day voter registration, so be sure to submit your voter registration before the deadline.

To register to vote in person or online, your registration must be received by October 21, 2024.
To register to vote by mail, your registration must be postmarked by October 21, 2024.

ID is required to vote in Alabama. Valid forms of ID include:

Valid Driver's License (not expired or has been expired less than 60 days)
Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Digital Driver's License
Valid Non-driver ID (not expired or has been expired less than 60 days)

Valid State Issued ID (Alabama or any other state)

- Valid AL Movement/Booking Sheet from Prison/Jail System (Photo Required)

- Valid US Passport
- Valid Employee ID from Federal Government, State of Alabama, County Government, Municipality, Board, Authority, or other entity of this state
Valid student or employee ID from a college or university in the State of Alabama (including postgraduate technical or professional schools)
