We are a united coalition of Taylor Swift fans dedicated to preserving and strengthening the historical democracy of the United States. Through collective action and civic engagement, we support progressive candidates at both local and national levels, with a shared goal of promoting policies that reflect justice, equity, and inclusivity. In particular, we are committed to advocating for the election of Vice President Kamala Harris as the next President of the United States, ensuring a brighter future for all.

We are a united coalition of Taylor Swift fans, standing FEARLESS in our dedication to preserving and strengthening the STORY OF US — the historical democracy of the United States. Through collective action, we SHAKE IT OFF and rise above division and hate to support progressive candidates at both local and national levels. Our shared goal is to ensure that THIS IS A NEW SOUNDTRACK for a nation where justice, equity, and inclusivity prevail. In particular, we are committed to advocating for the election of Vice President Kamala Harris as the next President of the United States. With her leadership, we believe we can create a nation where THE LIGHTS ARE SO BRIGHT BUT THEY NEVER BLIND US, and the future is one where WE NEVER GO OUT OF STYLE.

In the hours following President Biden’s withdrawal from the 2024 Presidential race, 22-year-old Latinx trans man Emerald Medrano founded Swifties for Kamala (originally Swifties for Harris), sparking a surge of enthusiasm online by drawing powerful parallels between Taylor Swift and Kamala Harris.

“Harris is a very intelligent and powerful woman; she’s a trailblazer,” Medrano told Vanity Fair. “The way she has opened doors and also takes care of the people who come after her through that door reminds me in a lot of ways of Taylor and the way she cares about people. I really love that little connection between them. Harris also makes me feel that she cares about me—my rights and my identity. This is someone I wanna vote for.”

What began as a grassroots effort has rapidly expanded, with over 3,500 members on Discord and a growing newsletter that fuels our worldwide organizing efforts.

On August 27, Swifties for Kamala hosted its Kick-Off Call featuring U.S. Senators Elizabeth Warren, Kristen Gillibrand, and Ed Markey, along with Representatives Chris Deluzio and Becca Balint. Carole King, the legendary singer-songwriter and voting rights activist, also addressed the 34,000 attendees, inspiring us in our fight for democracy this November.

To date, Swifties for Kamala has mobilized more than 3,500 active volunteers, gained over 280,000 social media followers, raised $150,000 for the Harris campaign, and mobilized 90,000 people to check their voter registration. Through a partnership with Shop Social Goods, we’ve donated over $13,000 to voter registration efforts.

After the first presidential debate, Taylor Swift officially endorsed the Harris-Walz ticket, urging fans to check their voter registration and called on young voters to get involved. Her endorsement led to 400,000 people visiting vote.gov, building on her 2023 efforts, when more than 35,000 people registered to vote through her calls to action.

While Taylor Swift isn’t directly involved with Swifties for Kamala, we’ve built strong relationships with the Harris campaign, allowing us to organize educational initiatives on key issues like Project 2025, climate change, and voter registration drives. And yes, we even have a friendship bracelet committee!

Our movement represents the collective power of the Swiftie community and our vision for the future. We are committed to advocating for the issues that matter most to us and ensuring our voices are heard at the highest levels of government. Together, we can make real change!
